Communication works for those who work at it.

Your brand is your reputation

We often tell clients, just when you’re getting tired of your brand, is just when people are starting to see it.

A good brand identity is like a good reputation, it takes long time to build. So before you start to redesign your “look” think long and hard about whether it’s really necessary. We’re not branding experts, but we do help clients connect with designers and help negotiate their way through the design process.

We need a fresh look and feel, do we need to rebrand?

When you look for a design house, we suggest you ask these questions.

  1. Who will own the graphics at the end of the day? It’s not uncommon for designers to lay claim to the intellectual property they created for you, but you paid for.  Get the rules of ownership clear off the top.
  2. What’s the staff  turnover? Creative folks like to move from design shop to design shop creating some dysfunction if your account gets bumped from person to person as staff changes.
  3. What percentage mark-up do you charge on printing? It’s valuable to have the design house manage the first set of printing (like your stationary) because they’ll ensure the colours are correct. But there is a fee, which can be surprising if you were not prepared for it.
